Weekly Newsletter October 27

The hurricane raged and the sailors feared for their life. All except one. 

Paul was not afraid, but he warned the captain not to sail. It was winter in the Mediterranean, and they risked sailing through a hurricane. The captain set out anyway. Before the storm hit, an angel visited Paul to say they wouldn’t die because they had to get Paul to Rome. However, they would lose the boat.

Sometimes God’s plan leads us through turbulent times. Paul urged the sailors, “Take courage! For I believe God.” Read the story in Acts 27.

Paul’s faith gives us courage to endure rough times with hope because God is with us. When life’s boat seems to be falling apart, let your faith in God keep you stable. If you must, look to someone with faith to encourage your trust in God until you can say for yourself, “God, “I believe you.”

Dear Jesus, you endured much and you call us to the same. Following you never promises ease. You do promise joy, hope, and everlasting life. Help us keep trusting in you until you make all people and all your creation whole again. We need you, and we believe you. Amen.
