How Do These Jeans Look?
Over all, put on love!

Whatever you do, answer that question with love!

Pilots wear uniforms.
Surgeons wear scrubs, gloves, caps, and shoe covers in the operating room.
Firefighters wear heavy coats, boots, helmets, gloves and oxygen masks.

Christians wear love.

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” This kind of love shows deep respect and appreciation for the other person with no conditions, and it results in perfect harmony.

Today, I had a conflict with a store employee. I’m stubborn, and we both got a little heated but neither of us said anything that I would consider un-loving. After I left the store, I wondered if I did the “respectful” and “loving” thing. Some wise friends helped me reflect on the conversation, and encouraged me. I prayed and asked God to help me sort through these kinds of encounters so that I can always express respect with no conditions.

This unconditional love is possible only when we receive it from God who loves all people unconditionally. Jesus showed such love often and especially through his death and resurrection He offers forgiveness to us all. I pray that you will trust that God loves and forgives you so that you may be able to show the same respect, appreciation, care, and appropriate affection to everyone you meet.

Let’s pray this prayer together: Dear Jesus, relationships are difficult, but we can’t live life as you designed without healthy relationships at home, at work, in our communities, and in the world. Fill us with your unconditional love so that we may love all people as you love us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
