Weekly Newsletter Sept. 1

Mental Health is a serious issue today. We all must learn to live with and manage stress and anxiety. It’s a normal part of living. God knows that too, and God cares for you. Here’s how I know: 

God cares for us so much that he gave his only Son. Whoever trusts in him shall never die but have everlasting life. That eternal life doesn't begin when we die in this world. That new life in Jesus begins here and now. Jesus tells us that "A thief comes to steal and destroy, but I have come to give life and give it abundantly." John 10:10 

That sounds too good. But it’s true. We have new life when we trust and follow Jesus. He gives us his Holy Spirit to renew, restore, and fill us with hope now. Today. He is like a good shepherd who leads his flock to safe places full of nutritious grasses and clear water. The Apostle Paul encourages Timothy, a young follower of Jesus, with these words: "For God his not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

When you feel stress and anxiety today, give your cares to Jesus. Rely on God’s Holy Spirit. Open yourself to God’s power, love, and let Him bring wholeness to your mind, body, and soul. Life a life of peace, strength, and wholeness today.



I look forward to seeing you this weekend at Christ the Cornerstone, Bear or Elsmere. Dear Jesus, your arms must get tired carrying all our burdens! Thank you for lifting the weight off our shoulders. Give us rest from the strain of anxiety. Strengthen us to act according to your teaching; to love others as you love us. Amen.
